Enzo Ferrari was born on February 18th 1898 and took up automotive racing around 1919. In 1923 while racing in Ravenna at the Circuit of Sivocci, the Count Enrico and Countess Paolina Baracca bestowed upon him a squadron badge which had belong to their son Francesco Baracca. Francesco had died tragically on the Mount Montello during the war, and had been know as one of the best Italian pilots. The squadron badges emblem was the one and only prancing horse on a yellow shield; the now famous insignia of Ferrari! In 1940 Enzo opened his own car company, which fell victim to the bombings of World War II. He rebuilt his shop in 1946 and began work on the first ever Ferrari motorcar, the 125 Sport racer. Since Ferrari's first race in 1947, the company has won over 5,000 races worldwide. The Ferrari name is now 90% owned by the Fiat group resulting in a brand new stream of Ferrari vehicles. The legendary man himself Enzo Ferrari died on August 14, 1988 leaving behind one of the most success racing companies ever built.
The Ferrari 348 Spider was at one point the finest luxury vehicle ever manufacture. This Ferrari vehicle was like nothing ever before seen on the roadways of the world. The 348 marked a new style for the Ferrari. It was totally re-engineered, creating a smaller overall look, when actually it was longer than the previous 328 model.
